Sunday dawned cold and overcast, with occasional wet snowflakes hitting the ground. Quite a contrast from the previous week where Sunday’s high was almost eighty degrees!
It didn’t matter though, race day goes on, regardless.
Obviously 2:10:23 isn’t a particularly fast time, and I’ve still got a long way to go for my eventual goal, but for today, it’s enough to celebrate measurable progress. That’s about seven minutes faster than my time in the Sioux Falls Half-Marathon last fall.
And thus the afternoon was spent at my favorite local bar, where I consumed a couple of large beers, a pile of boneless wings (adult chicken nuggets), and then went home and took a nap.
