Recently, the A-10C flight demonstration team unveiled a brand-new paint scheme that they’ll be campaigning for the 2021 airshow season. As covered on the Aviationist, the paint scheme pays homage to the Vietnam-era colors worn by the A-1s, F-100s, F-105s, F-4s, and other aircraft during that war.
Thanks to Spencer Hughes, we’ve got some great video of the demo team’s Warthog flying in its new colors.
Here’s a bit of restored footage of the “Thuds” in action in Vietnam.
Finally, the aircraft that the A-10 really replaced, the A-1 Skyraider. There are a few survivors in civilian airshow hands, and this one has campaigned in some great Vietnam reenactment missions over the years.
