The cats went straight for the Formidable. I handed off the leader to Bossman and went for the trailers. I may think that Krants are a bit under-armed, but there’s no question about their durability – those things can take a beating! I was glad that I hadn’t wasted any missiles on the Dralthi earlier, because I sure needed them now.
At this point, I’d killed enough Ralari class destroyers to know they were reasonably tough ships. Maybe not quite as formidable as our Exeter class boats, but still nothing to sneeze at.
Bakhtosh Redclaw was supposed to be a Kiralthi nobleman: a high born Son of Kilrah too good for the common folk, who viewed humans as nothing more than slightly more verbal apes. Of course he flew a Jalthi.
There are only three things that a good wingman needs to say, and “Sorry for the friendly fire” isn’t one of them. I thought about that a little as I nursed my beat up Scimitar back to the Claw after another interminable mission with Maniac.
