I’m a bit under the weather as I’m writing up this week’s Rule 5, so rather than the deep dive that I was going to do on another historical ship, this is going to be a pic-heavy Rule 5 for Iron Blood’s favorite blueprint yandere: KMS Roon!
Yes, I know that there was a KMS Roon in the German Navy during the first World War. This isn’t her. This one of Azur Lane’s almost wholly invented blueprint ships. Maybe the design existed on a drawing board somewhere, but never beyond that point. Whether that’s more or less sad than a ship like Peter Strasser that was mostly completed but never saw duty, I leave to you.
In Azur Lane, Roon is more than a little possessive of “her” commander. I called her a yandere for a reason. She likes violence. I mean she really, really, likes violence, and sees destruction as her path to the commander’s heart.
Basically, don’t upset her, and make sure she’s pointed in the direction of some enemies.
She’s also had an alternate character version where a bunch of shipgirls became musicians and battled with special music gear for the ultimate battle of the bands. (It’s Azur Lane. It doesn’t have to make sense. See also the various other crossovers with other anime/manga universes).
