Time to meet a fan favorite, prototype shipgirl/catgirl Cheshire! (Mostly because her plushie keeps knocking stuff off my shelves, and I’m hoping she’ll stop if I pay attention and give her a Rule 5 post all her own).
What to say about Chesire? She’s a maid. She’s a catgirl. She’s very possessive and protective of her “owner” The Commander. She brews a good cup of tea, and demands attention whenever possible, because, again, catgirl.
Depending on which sources you believe, HMS Cheshire might have been the fifteenth County-class cruiser, had HMS Surrey and HMS Northumberland been built (as cruisers thirteen and fourteen). Or, if you prefer the World of Warships version of events, she might have been a part of the (again notational and never built Albemarle-class) of British heavy cruisers. Is that confusing enough? Forget it, none of it matters, because catgirl.
In actual gameplay terms, she’s a pretty potent member of any vanguard group. Throw her in a team with some of the other Royal Maids, or distract her with some fluffy Sakura Empire girls for maximum synergy. Either way she’s going to look out for her beloved Commander above all others.
Cheshire has a lot of fans. And a lot of talented cosplayers who’ve taken a shot at some of her iconic costumes. Every annual Azur Lane cosplay contest has a few entrants showcasing Cheshire outfits (and those are who I’ve picked out for this particular blog). There’s also quite a lot of fan art (no surprise there), but since there’s a bunch of very pretty cosplayers, I’m mostly skipping the fanart this time around.
Well, except for this one. Because I can.
Okay, so she’s not actually a catgirl, the ears are just an accessory (she said so). Whatever. We endorse catgirls of all types here on the Triple-S Rule 5 Features.
