2023 Year in Review

  • by

As the year wraps up, my attempt to break a 4:15:00 marathon time fell short – blame it on my race plan amnesia. Thanks, Biden economy, for derailing my $15,000 debt payoff goal. On the bright side, I aced the reading challenge by a slim margin and completed more video games than planned. Cheers to 2024 – less job loss, more wins!

Rule 5 Warships – HMS Neptune

Behold the ghost of HMS Neptune! An unrealized dream of Britain’s WWII efforts, she now sails the virtual seas in Azur Lane as a bossy, trident-wielding maid. Her blueprint suggests a monstrous artillery, but alas, post-war austerity sank her.

Meet Friedrich der Große – a blueprint battleship of the Iron Blood faction that never made it beyond the planning stage in the real world. In Azur Lane, she’s an ultra-rare research ship with mommy vibes, jealousy issues, and just a wee bit too much adult fanart.

Retro Gaming – Wing Commander Academy

  • by

Having conquered Wing Commander II, our narrator is shimmying off to Origin’s kooky chapters in the universe, but not Wing Commander III. They’re starting with Wing Commander Academy: more pricy mission builder than game, crowned with a zippy super-fighter, endless waves of ennui, and a collaborative mission builder – That ’90s Internet Style. Our hero is eager to boot up Wing Commander Privateer next.
