I really wish I still had Knight around for this mission. He may not be anywhere near as efficiently aggressive as Bossman, Angel, or Iceman, but he’s at least a reliable distraction for the enemy. Which would have been helpful in this mission.
Barroom chatter here is interesting. If you didn’t realize all ready that things are not going well, this should really have made that point clear. Then we jump into the mission and it’s a complete mess. First are the four Jalthi attacking The Claw. This is the final ace run-in, and well, it’s Jalthi. It’s not too difficult to deal with Jalthi in a Scimitar, especially when you’ve got back-up, but you really have to boom and zoom effectively. Plus they do have enough firepower to put a serious hurt onto the Claw. Still, the fighters here are fairly easy to dispatch.
Next it’s on to rescuing the Exeter-class destroyer. This is tougher, mainly because the Gratha are a tougher set of opponents, the destroyer is a lot weaker than the Claw, and you have less support. It’s doable, but this is where you burn up most of your missiles.
Finally there’s the Fralthi-class cruiser and its escort of Krants. This is nearly impossible to bag without a wingman to distract the fighters. The Fralthi will jump out if you don’t destroy it in time. Fortunately, that particular kill isn’t a mission make or break.
Win takes you to Rostov. Lose and you go to Hubble’s Star.
