Intros, Completions, and Running Motivation: Vlog 2020-12

  • by

Tried out something new this week, and finally made myself a vlog intro. Most other vlogs seem to have one, why not me. Let’s call it a work in progress and move on. A bit of thoughts about running motivation. I’m seeing a lot of runners in the Koobecaf groups I’m in complaining about lack of motivation because their races are either cancelled or likely to be cancelled. I feel that a bit too, and I have to keep reminding myself that the goal isn’t the next race, or even the race after that. I’ve got a long term goal that I’m working towards, and that goal remains regardless of when my next race happens.

Also debuting this week is a segment I’m calling “Completionist’s Corner”. Maybe the name will stick, maybe it won’t, but I’m envisioning it as a semi-regular thing wherein I talk about whatever the latest card set I’ve completed. First up is the not especially inspiring 1989 Donruss Baseball Bonus MVPs insert set, but hey, you work with what you’ve got. Plus, I’m genuinely happy to have swing a small trade which netted me the last card I needed to complete the set.

Monday Music: “Long Distance Runner” by DeGarmo and Key. Not necessarily the beat count I really prefer for my running music, but how can I resist putting a song like this into my marathon playlist?
